Fabric Types: Ink Systems

The ink is a sublimation dye which is a term used to describe the transfer of an ink film (or design) from paper to textile at high temperature (180°C - 210°C).

This process is possible by the selection of specific disperse dye stuffs which readily sublime (change form a solid to gaseous state) at these temperatures.

Because the dye stuff has an affinity for polyester, this sublimation effect forces the gaseous vapour directly into the fabric construction to provide a permanent and colour fast print.

See Ink Fastness Table

The colour fastness stated is based on 100% polyester; results on nylon will be inferior and the system should NOT be used on cotton or mixtures.
